DUNYA Car Rental – Terms & Conditions (Jordan)
1. Definitions
- Renter: The person named on the rental agreement, responsible under this contract.
- Vehicle: The automobile rented from DUNYA Cars.
- Rental Period: The time from vehicle pick-up to its return.
2. Driver Requirements
- Minimum driver age is 21 years. For SUVs and luxury vehicles, minimum age is 23.
- Driver must have held a valid license for at least one year.
- An International Driving Permit is required if the license is not in English or Arabic.
3. Payment & Deposit
- A refundable security deposit of 500 USD is held on the renter’s card.
- Accepted payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, and American Express (Credit or Debit Cards only).
- Virtual, prepaid, and third-party cards are not accepted.
- Full prepayment is required for discounted or promotional bookings made online.
4. Rental Duration & Grace Period
- The minimum rental period is 3 days, charged in 24-hour blocks.
- A 30-minute grace period is allowed for returns. Exceeding this will result in an extra full-day charge.
- No refunds are provided for early returns.
5. Insurance Packages
- Standard Package: Includes Collision Damage Waiver (CDW) and Theft Protection. Renter liability up to 700 USD.
- Premium Package: Optional. Includes Super CDW which eliminates excess for body damage only. Does not cover glass, tires, rims, undercarriage, roadside assistance, lost keys, or personal accident insurance.
- Platinum Package: Optional. Covers all exclusions mentioned above for comprehensive protection.

7. Fuel Policy
- Vehicles are provided with a full tank and must be returned full.
- Refueling charges will apply if not returned full, calculated at the local fuel rate plus a 10 JOD service fee.
8. Vehicle Use Restrictions
- Vehicles must be used on paved roads only.
- Use outside Jordan is strictly prohibited.
- Smoking inside the vehicle is not allowed.
9. Accident and Damage Reporting
- All accidents or damages must be reported to the Traffic Police immediately.
- A police report is mandatory for any insurance claim. Failure to obtain one results in full renter liability.
10. Vehicle Condition
- Vehicles are delivered clean and in good condition.
- All pre-existing damage must be documented at pickup.
- Photos or video may be used to verify condition.
11. Roadside Assistance
- Included only with the Premium Package or as a separate paid add-on.
- Covers flat tires, battery issues, towing within city limits, and lockout service.
- Not valid if vehicle was misused or used off-road.
12. Vehicle Replacement
- If the vehicle breaks down due to no fault of the renter, a replacement will be provided, subject to availability.
13. Additional Driver Policy
- Additional drivers must be listed on the rental agreement.
- They must meet the same age and license requirements.
- Unauthorized drivers void all insurance.
14. One-Way Rentals & Delivery
- One-way rentals within Jordan are allowed for an additional fee.
- Free delivery and pickup are available within Amman city limits.
- Airport service is available 24/7.
15. Traffic Violations
- The renter is responsible for all traffic tickets, tolls, fines, and parking infractions.
- A 25 USD administrative fee applies for processing each incident.
16. Loss or Damage of Accessories
- Renter is liable for damage or loss of keys, GPS, Wi-Fi device, or child seats.
- Replacement is billed at current market rates.
17. Early Returns and No-Shows
- No refunds are given for early returns.
- No-shows without contact after 4 hours are fully charged.
- Cancellations are free if made more than 72 hours before pickup. Cancellations within 72 hours incur a fee of 71 JOD or a 2-day charge, whichever is greater.
18. Cleaning Fee
- Vehicles must be returned clean inside and out.
- Smoking, pet hair, stains, or excessive dirt may result in a cleaning fee between 40 to 100 USD.
19. Lost Items
- DUNYA Cars is not responsible for personal belongings left in the vehicle.
20. Vehicle Availability
- Vehicle categories are guaranteed, not specific models.
- A similar or higher-class vehicle may be provided if the selected model is unavailable.
21. Privacy and Data Use
- Personal data is securely stored and never sold.
- Use of the website implies consent to cookies and digital tracking tools.
22. Corporate and Long-Term Rentals
- Special rates are available for monthly rentals and corporate accounts.
- Benefits include priority fleet access and flexible terms.
23. Force Majeure
- DUNYA Cars is not responsible for service disruptions due to weather, political unrest, or border closures.
- Refunds are not provided unless legally required.
24. Legal Jurisdiction
- All rentals are subject to Jordanian law.
- Disputes are handled by courts in Amman.
25. Agreement Acceptance
- Signing the agreement or booking a vehicle implies full acceptance of these terms and conditions.
26. Booking Modifications and Extensions
- Extensions must be requested at least 24 hours before the scheduled return.
- Approvals depend on vehicle availability and current pricing.
- Unauthorized late returns are charged a full day plus a penalty of up to 50 JOD.
27. Fleet Changes and Upgrades
- Due to fleet rotation, exact models may not always be available.
- Free upgrades may be offered when the booked category is not available.
- Preferences like color, brand, or features are not guaranteed.
28. Theft or Total Loss
- Liability up to 700 USD under the Standard Package with valid police report.
- No liability under Full Super Cover unless negligence or contract breach is proven.
- A police report and key return are mandatory.
29. Prohibited Use
The vehicle may not be used:
- By individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs
- In racing, off-road driving, or illegal activities
- For commercial purposes unless authorized
- By unlisted or unlicensed drivers
- For towing other vehicles
30. Cancellations and Refunds
- Cancellations are free if made more than 72 hours before pickup.
- Later cancellations or no-shows are charged 71 JOD or 2 rental days.
- No refunds are given for unused days once the vehicle has been picked up.

32. Communication Consent
- By using the website or booking, you consent to receive communications via email, SMS, or WhatsApp.

33. Interpretation of Terms
- In case of translation discrepancies, the English version prevails.
- These Terms override any verbal agreements.
34. Feedback and Complaints
- Feedback and complaints can be sent to bookings@dunyacars.com.
- Unresolved issues may be directed to the Jordanian Consumer Protection Authority.
35. Insurance Exclusions
Insurance becomes void and full liability is assumed by the renter if:
- Driving under influence of alcohol or drugs
- Unauthorized driver operation
- Reckless or illegal driving
- Failure to obtain a police report
- Overloading the vehicle
- Off-road or restricted area usage
36. Administrative Fees
Additional fees may apply:
- 25 JOD for claim or fine processing
- 10 JOD for contract changes after pickup
- Up to 50 JOD for filing at-fault accident claims
- Late return penalty includes one-day rental charge and 20 JOD
37. Vehicle Tracking
- All vehicles are GPS tracked for safety.
- Data is only used for legal, recovery, or emergency purposes and is not shared unless required by law.
38. Pick-Up and Return
- Vehicle must be inspected and signed for at pickup.
- After-hours return is allowed but renter remains responsible until official inspection.
- Damage identified after-hours may still be charged.
39. Child Safety Compliance
- Jordanian law requires child safety seats for children under 7 years.
- DUNYA Cars provides child and booster seats upon request.
- Proper installation is the renter’s responsibility.
40. Insurance Responsibility by Tier
- CDW: Liability up to 700 USD with police report, no coverage for glass or keys
- SCDW: No liability for body damage, but excludes glass and keys
- Full Super Cover: Zero liability with proper police report, covers all parts including keys and tires
41. Company Rights
- DUNYA Cars may refuse service to individuals with poor records or abusive behavior.
- Bookings may be cancelled due to force majeure or system errors.
- Pricing errors may be corrected without prior notice.
42. Limitation of Liability
- DUNYA Cars is not responsible for indirect losses, missed flights, accommodations, or loss of personal items in the car.
43. Legal Jurisdiction
- Rentals are governed by the laws of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
- Disputes will be settled first through negotiation, then through Amman courts if needed.
44. Official Communication
- Official communication will be made via email, SMS, or WhatsApp.
- Legal notices should be addressed to DUNYA Cars HQ, Amman, Jordan.
